½" Brass Compression Straight Coupling — Inline Pipe Connector
Tool-Free Pipe Joining — No Soldering, No Heat, No Fuss
The ½" Brass Compression Straight Coupling is a premium-grade pipe fitting designed to join two lengths of copper, brass, or compatible pipe in a straight inline run — quickly, cleanly, and without any soldering or heat tools. Using a simple compression mechanism with two nuts and olives (ferrules), this coupling creates a watertight, vibration-resistant joint that can be assembled and disassembled with just a spanner. Ideal for repairs, extensions, and new installations where a reliable, removable joint is needed.
Key Features
- Size: ½ inch (15mm) — fits standard ½" copper and compatible pipes
- Body Material: Solid brass — heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant, safe for potable water
- Connection Type: Compression fitting — two compression nuts with olives (ferrules) for tool-free, leak-free joints
- Configuration: Straight coupling — joins two pipes in a direct inline run
- Finish: Natural brass — classic look with proven durability
- Standard: Manufactured to BS/ISO standards for compatibility with standard pipework
How It Works
Slide a compression nut and olive onto each pipe end. Insert both pipe ends into the coupling body. Hand-tighten the compression nuts, then use a spanner to tighten a further 1¼ turns — the olive compresses against the pipe, creating a permanent, watertight seal. No solder, no flux, no heat required. The joint can also be undone and reassembled if needed.
Common Applications
- Joining copper water supply pipes inline
- Repairing burst or damaged pipe sections
- Extending existing pipework runs
- Connecting pipes in tight spaces where soldering is impractical
- Domestic and commercial plumbing installations
- Boiler and heating system pipework
